One of the stronger alloy grades in industrial and civil areas is known as 7075. Since the creation of 7075 aluminum sheet involves cold treatment forging, it performs even better than soft steel in terms of strength and hardness. This product is made from a comparatively high aluminum alloy. Additionally, the corrosion resistance of 7075 aluminum sheet has extended its use in a variety of situations. It also has outstanding mechanical qualities on its own.
7075 mainly contains zinc elements. Aluminum sheet made of 7075 is stress-relieved and won't distort or deform after processing. To check for sand holes and impurities, all very thick 7075 aluminum sheets are ultrasonically tested. Due to their excellent heat conductivity, 7075 aluminum sheets can speed up the molding process and increase productivity.
The aircraft manufacturing industry has extensively used the ultra-high strength deformed aluminum alloy 7075 since the late 1940s and continues to do so today. Its traits include good plasticity after solid solution treatment, a particularly good heat treatment strengthening effect, high strength below 150 °C, and a particularly good low temperature strength. However, it has poor welding performance, a tendency to develop stress corrosion cracks, and must be used with clad aluminum or another protective treatment. The stress corrosion cracking resistance of the alloy can be increased through double-stage aging. The plasticity in the annealed and recently quenched state is marginally better than that of 7A04 and marginally worse than that of 2A12 in the same state.
